SUBJECT BLOCKING

Many schools understand the benefits of a free-choice options system, in which pupils are asked to make their subject choices unconstrained by artificial pre-blocking. The marketing benefits of this are immense, and ProTemporis will help you to keep your parents and pupils happy by enabling you to operate such a system.

The school provides details of its pupil option choices, chosen freely from the subjects offered by the school and constrained only by any school policies governing subject choices. ProTemporis will agree numbers of classes of each subject to be allocated with you, and will then devise subject blocks based upon this agreement that will accommodate your pupils’ choices as far as possible. Any problems or clashes identified by this process will be resolved in full liaison with the school and in accordance with the school’s management priorities.

On completion of the project, if purchase as a stand-alone product, the devised option blocks will be delivered back to the school with pupils allocated to teaching groups within them according to the subject choices at the time of blocking.

If this service has been included as part of an Annual Contract then ProTemporis will also manage and keep track of changes to pupils’ subject choices up until the end of the Summer Term.

This service is inclusive of one day visit to the school.
